Garage door insulation kit

A garage door insulation kit contains everything you need to insulate your door to make sure that the heat in your garage stays inside. This kit is really good for insulating metal garage doors and is designed so that you can do the job yourself without having to call in and pay for professional help. It is easy to install, improves the appearance of your door, has a high R value for insulation and reduces your costs of heating or cooling the garage.

The insulation that comes in these kits is polystyrene. Each of these insulating panels is covered with high impact plastic and fits flush to the inside of the garage door. The panels are cut to fit the garage door and each kit contains enough material to cover one standard size garage door. If your garage has two doors, you will need to purchase two kits.

There are various types of insulation suitable for garage doors. Most of the new doors are already insulated with the insulating material in between two door panels. Polystyrene is usually used with metal doors, but you can also have the insulation injected as foam that fills every possible space in the door. Injected foam insulation bonds with the metal of the door and eliminates voids. It also provides a higher insulating value for the door.

You can provide a second face to the garage door if you would prefer to have foam insulation. With the insulation kits, the panel of styrofaom is designed to do that for you. The plastic cover is colored so it looks as if you have an inside panel and if you want you can remove the panel when the warm weather comes.
