Garage floor epoxy paint
For applying a finish to a garage floor, epoxy paint is the type most commonly used. Since this product has
harmful fumes, you have to make sure that the garage is well-ventilated when you are doing the application. You should also wear protective
eyewear and gloves to prevent any injuries. When you are applying epoxy paint with a roller, some of the material many flick up on your
hands or into your eyes and if there should be any tiny rocks that you didn’t get in the cleaning process, these could also flick into your
eyes from the roller.
In order to get a good finish on the floor, you do need to prepare the floor so that the epoxy paint will
adhere to the concrete surface. The air and floor temperatures need to be between 60 and 80 degrees to get the material to spread easily on
the floor. Before you begin, you need to sweep and clean the floor thoroughly. After you sweep, you should clean the floor using the garden
hose or a power washer to ensure that there are no tiny bits of dust and dirt remaining that could mar your finish.
You should clean the floor with a diluted bleach or a commercial cleaner for concrete floors and driveways
to get out any stains in the concrete. Be sure to wear protective clothing so that none of this liquid gets on your skin. You need to spray
the stains and then scrub them with a stiff brush. Let the floor dry completely and inspect it for any cracks or chips. These need to be
filled in with an epoxy substance and smoothed out to give a smooth effect to the floor. You do need to follow the directions on the
substance in order to do the job properly.
