Prefabricated garage kits

Prefabricated garage kits are available in sizes of 10 to 30 feet wide and in lengths of more than 20 feet long. After the standard 20 foot length you can increase the length of the garage in 4 or 5 foot increments. The standard height starts at 7.5 feet but can be increased in one foot increments to 12.5 feet high. If you are interested in this type of garage, you will have to inquire at the dealers to get a quote, You should actually get quotes from several dealers to make sure you get the best possible price.

You can erect these garages yourself, but you can also have the work done by professional contractors. If you do decide to take on this project yourself, everything you need is included in the kit – the material and the hardware you need for bolting the material together. You don’t need to hire any heavy equipment because the panels are not heavy and two people can easily lift one side of the garage.

The construction of this kind of prefab garage is quite simple because all you have to do is slide the connecting pieces together and tap then in snugly. Self-tapping screws come with the kit to enable you to keep the panels together. You don’t have to worry about rust and corrosion because the 14 – 15 gauge galvanized steel with a galvanized top coat applied to the steel. On top of these there is a patented clear coat applied which makes the frames corrosion resistant.
