Wayne Dalton garage door openers
There are two styles of Wayne Dalton garage door openers that you can choose from – the ceiling mount or
the wall mount. The wall mount door openers are an innovation from Wayne Dalton that eliminates the belts, chains, screw drives and tracks
that clutter up the ceiling of a garage. These are engineered to work on Wayne Dalton garage doors and are called iDrive openers. iDrive is
the most technologically advanced system for garage door openers. It mounts directly to the wall above the garage door. The torsion openers
in this system can be used with sectional or wood doors that use torsion counterbalance springs. This system also includes more safety
features that regular garage door openers do not have.
When you install this type of garage door opener, you still need to have cable snubbers, or cable drum
wraps, to keep the door counterbalanced. This prevents the cables from unspooling if the door detects an obstruction. The operating
frequency is 372 MHz and the iDrive operating system does not have to installed above the center of the door. You can install it at any
point along the TorqueMaster tube, but you do have to make sure that you have enough disconnect cable to hang at least 6 feet off the
ground on the right side of the door. The power cord that comes with this system is 6 feet long, but you can also get a 15 feet extender
cord.
There are no width limitations for installing the type of opener, but the door cannot be higher than 8 feet
and must weigh less than 225 pounds. When you first install the opener, you need to run the install routine to make sure the door is
operating properly and that you do not need to make any adjustments.
